2024 Food Waste Interns Programs

Our July 2024 intake is accepting applications now

From July to October 2024, Climateers will be running an intern program for both undergraduates and postgraduate students from different faculties and universities in Melbourne.

The program will be run as a cohort of 6-8 unpaid undergraduates, and 1-2 Masters of Sustainability students.

80 to 450 hour internship requirements will be accommodated.

Given the different start dates and requirements from different universities we have had to tailor the Position Descriptions to suit.

The program will be delivered hybrid with a minimum of 4 hours per week face to face.

It comprise three core aspects:

  1. Learning sessions (mainly delivered over Zoom with presentations and Q & A)
  2. Peer to peer sessions for learnings consolidation
  3. Assignments, tasks and activities. (individual and group)

The tasks and activities will involve some core activities for all interns and opportunities to specialise in particular areas.

The program is suitable for students from almost various faculties and is best suited to those with an interest in environmental sustainability and in particular food waste reduction.

Relevant faculties include: Science, Engineering, Business, Law, Arts, Media and Communications. Universities that have expressed interest in collaborating include(in alphabetical order) Deakin, RMIT, Monash, Swinburne, University of Melbourne.

The program overviews below show the outline of the learning sessions and assignments. It has been designed to  accommodate staggered starts to suit the various universities.   

The position descriptions for the postgraduate masters include the extension work to cover Sustainability Auditing, Reporting and Sustainability Plan preparation.
